goodbye summer.
So, I found my old online journal today and found an entry titled "first day of high school." Direct quote:
Today, I’ve just been mainly thinking one refrain over and over in my mind: how the hell do people- and how will I- survive high school?
Tomorrow is the Last First Day. And even though I love my friends and I (mostly) love school, I'm more than ready for it. I'm ready for all the "lasts." I'm ready for fall, I'm ready for winter, and I'm ready for the future.
And I've survived and will survive high school. It seems so small now, even while I'm still in it. I've loved this summer and I've learned so much and seen so much and I can't wait to get beyond high school and do the same.
So, as Captain Jack Sparrow said, bring me that horizon. Or, as somebody else more aptly put it- let's blow this popsicle stand!
