The Red Death knocked rather politely at our door last night, which has made today much easier. Two of my Black Friday orders came in, and I have to return at least half of it for being either too small or too big. One dress in particular I may need to take a sewing machine to, because its sleeves hit smack on the shoulder, necessitating a full size up, if not two. These fucking shoulders, I swear to god.
(For those of you just joining us, my shoulders are a size bigger than my chest, which is a size bigger than my waist, which is one if not two sizes bigger than my hips. Clothes shopping is an eternal game of "which measurement is gonna matter".)
For reasons that are likely hormonal, I've fallen into this pit of self-doubt and am currently second-guessing whether I even want to do any of this. Took me two weeks of unemployment to start going crazy, and now it's well and truly hit. The slacker life clearly does not suit me.
I think cross-stitch gives me a headache if I do it for longer than ten or fifteen minutes, but my brain won't let me stop until I've made some sort of complete shape. I've finished Mettaton, and now I just need to fill in the SEXY RECTANGLE text above him. In addition to a cross-stitch pattern for comic sans, there's also one for papyrus. I'm still in this pit, apparently. It's coexisting with Mass Effect well enough, so I'll allow it for now.
My snake whip is a full two feet longer than I expected due to the length of the fall and the cracker, so it's too long to do anything but point-pops with indoors. It hits the ceiling, floor, and anything else around it if I try to go up, down, or sideways. Still, the feel of braided leather moving with my hands is remarkably calming. Feels like home. My knock-off neon wand is rather weak, but that's how I like it.
I haven't even started to think about packing things up, yet. That'll be tomorrow, or maybe Sunday. I really should do something about that Seattle idea, now that I know what it would take. Maybe after I move everything into the upstairs room...we'll see.
I did a huge reading a few days ago, and I did another huge reading tonight. They were both helpful, although god help me, the suit of Swords - the court cards specifically - is all over my radar this week. Thanks to the book of spreads I got from Little Red Tarot, I know I'll be doing a reading on my Birthday and on New Year's. Maybe I'll slip in a Full Moon one around Christmas; haven't decided yet.
