This is the first year where I've been aware of halfamoon before the February fun starts. It's definitely something that needs to be shouted about :)

I'm really tempted to sign up, but I don't know if it'll encourage or discourage me, and the sign-ups are open for a while, so I'm procrastinating. I have a few stories I want to write that'd fit the criteria though.

It's unsual to find a feminist fic that takes the mick whilst actually being funny and making good points. It's in my bookmarks on AO3 and if I do a ladies rec list it is definitely going on that.

So "takes the mick" is a phrase I did not understand at all the first time I saw it (which was in Harry Potter), but now that I do, I'm kind of beside myself with pride that somebody used it to describe part of one of my stories. *sage nod*

I am not very good at being a nagging partner :( I get absorbed into the other person's thinky thoughts, or if I get behind on mine I feel guilty about nagging the other person and fail to nag. Encouragement for encouragement's sake I can do though :)

Heh, taking the mick/mickey, naff, and mithering are all things I've been ? at over online *grins*. My word learned from Harry Potter? Alas. I am the only person my friends know who uses it in texts, heh.

rarewomen, which is a 1k gift fic exchange kinda like yuletide but for rare ladies rather than rare fandoms, is just getting ready to start noms for the year.

As far as I'm aware, basically share all the things with a focus on ladies in fandoms :)

I spotted rarewomen, but like with yuletide, I got hugely confused as to what was going on and who I could write about, and ran away :S

Yeah, rarewomen is confusing. I think I have it sufficiently sussed to be able to sign up, but man was I lost at the beginning. I think the gist is that you get 5 noms per fandom in 5 fandoms, your lady needs < 500 complete fics on the AO3 to be rare, and when you request/offer, you will do 3-4 fandoms, with 2 women from the tagset per fandom. I THINK.

Ooh, I will have to go take a look at their icons, then!

I'm exited about halfamoon. I don't have time to create something but I'm thinking of making a themed recs list and maybe crosspost some art if that's not against the rules. Gotta check, but I think the content doesn't have to be brand new...

I don't think it has to be new content either, and YAY, RECS! Yeah, realised that unless I cut down on the number of icons I'm making here or the number of films that I want to cover then this batch is never gonna get done *head desk*.

Did you happen to icon the red nails? Because I have feels about that image (as I didn't realize it until you mentioned it but OF COURSE she would have a decent manicure) and maybe I'll get something created in time.

I iconned, but I don't think they show up. Will try to do a close-up. I didn't really notice until I properly started looking, but there she is in full uniform, and she has painted nails and make-up, and she can still be in charge of things <3
