Summary: In which Kuroko writes a letter. Kise/Kuroko.
Notes: I went searching for prompts on the kink meme and found this one: Kise/Kuroko, in which Kuroko makes the first move. I thought it would be fun to reverse the chased/chaser. By the way, if you have any requests/prompts you would like to see written, give me a heads-up in a comment and I'll try writing it!
Kuroko flipped through the pages of his book and frowned. It was a self-help book entitled How to Confess to a Narcissist, but he wasn't too confident that the tactics within would work, let alone why he had picked up such a book. Besides the obvious: that he wanted to make his feelings known to a happy-go-lucky blonde named Kise Ryota.
“Oi, Kuroko, you alright?” Startled, Kuroko slammed his book shut and quickly hid the title. It wasn't every day that someone was able to sneak up on him, but he relaxed when he realized it was Kagami. “You're acting weird,” pointed out the power forward for Seirin. “Well, weirder than usual. What's with all the sighing?”
Doing his best not to take offense, Kuroko steered the conversation away from his dilemma (and his rather obvious book choice). “Is it time for practice already?”
Kagami let loose a grin, taking the bait. “You know it. Why else would I be in a library?”
With a polite smile back, Kuroko said, “Shall we?”

Once he was home and in the comfort of his own room, Kuroko pulled out the book he had hidden from his teammate and reread the part that had caught his attention earlier. Step one, write a letter expressing how you feel, and remember to include lots of compliments!
He wrinkled his nose at that last part. Kise hardly needed his ego inflated even further. But if that's what it would take …
Setting the book on his desk, he went on a search for pen and paper and then got to work.
Kise-kun,
I'm glad you've learned to work with your teammates, and I'm impressed at how good your team has become. I admire how hard you have been working and I would like to treat you to dinner sometime.
Kuroko
Pleased at how it had turned out - simple and sweet and straight to the point - he folded it up and place it in an envelope with Kise's name on it.

Kise practically glomped the shorter boy as soon as he saw him. “This is a wonderful surprise,” exclaimed the cheerful blonde. “What brings you here, Kurokocchi?” It was rare for Kuroko to stop by Kaijou, but when he did, it was always with good reason.
Releasing Kuroko from the bear hug he had trapped the boy in, he waited patiently for Kuroko to say something. He was a little confused when his former teammate never did, though, and instead handed him a letter. It was almost a shame that Kuroko was hiding his face; he would have liked to see what kind of expression the other boy was wearing to better gauge what he was about to read.
Steeling himself for a restraining order, he opened the envelope and read the short message inside. He had to reread it twice to make sure he wasn't misunderstanding, and then a large grin took over in place of the worry he had previously felt. “Kurokocchi … are you asking me on a date?”
Kuroko had no way of hiding the bright red that blossomed from the tips of ears and spread quickly downward. His voice, however, was quite steady when he said, “Yes.”
The blonde leaned forward and tilted Kuroko's face up so that the other boy was actually looking at him. “Is tonight good for you?”
Turning even redder, Kuroko stated sharply, “I'm serious about this, Kise-kun. I want … I want us to be ...” He wasn't sure how to say he wanted to be the only one Kise ever thought of in that way, but the words failed to come out.
“I get it,” Kise spoke softly, leaning even closer. He was glad they were behind the school and away from prying eyes because it made it that much easier to steal a quick kiss, much to the shock of the other boy. “You'll be my one and only.” Then, completely ruining the moment, he slapped his hands down onto Kuroko's shoulders and beamed, “Why didn't you tell me sooner! There were so many opportunities for us to sneak behind the bleachers turning intermissions and -”
Kuroko introduced his palm to Kise's face and pushed him away, huffing, “Pervert,” but his barely there smile proved he was only teasing.
