more ramblings
- My friend Brad has moved back to Vegas from a short stint in New York City. I am glad since he is one of my favorite bio boys.
- Our new general manager 'managed' to piss me off royally today ...I was going into the break room to sign out and he was walking toward me. I very politely said, "Have a nice night, Nick." and not one response from him. And yes, he did hear me since I said it when he was practically beside me. When he came aboard less than two weeks ago, he never even introduced himself to the staff. He does not acknowledge our presence if we are standing with a supervisor (as he did with me today when I was talking with one), never addresses us by name and we do wear name tags. I find him incredibly rude and will probably say something to him soon.
- Dead guy's (bio sperm donor) annuity is ready to be processed and it turns out, it is much more than we were told. SO...I WILL HAVE MY TOP SURGERY before the end of the year and start T here in Vegas if I can find a therapist. This makes me very very happy!!
- Sending Shyama back home this weekend. Love her to pieces but she needs to be with her kin and I need my cats to sleep on the bed with me again.
- Funny story...One of the women I work with is a doctor from El Salvador. She is working hard to prep for her US exams. There are times when she asks me questions about what a particular English word means or some cultural thing. Today she stopped me near the big box-o-cigarettes we have next to the healthy/smoker lung specimens (for people that decide right then and there they are going to quit) and there was a cigar tube in it. She points to it and asks me what it is as she thinks it is a sexy toy. I so bent over from laughter and once I regained my poise, explained to her that some cigars will come in a tube to keep it fresh until one smokes it.
- asked me the other day why I wear a ring on my thumb. I said because it fits. She said that in El Salvador, if a woman wears a ring on her thumb it is a 'sign' she is a lesbian. I said that was not the case with me and her response was, "I did not think you would need to wear a ring to advertise kuz..." and she just kinda looks me up and down. Again, I laugh hysterically.
- I have the next 2 days off and hopefully can get some reading in, a trip or two to the dog park and throw some fun in somewhere! It is going to approach 70 degrees this weekend and no sense in staying inside if I don't have to.
