New Hamsters on the Block

But We Both Look Very Sweet Here
Originally uploaded by inkognitoh My new hamsters, Mel and Kim have survived their first week under my roof and coped with the trauma of the first cage clean. They really are quite tiny (about the size of small mice) and one enjoys nothing more than biting the funk out of whoever is holding her. Luckily, her teeth aren't big enough or sharp enough to draw blood... yet.

I can't actually tell them apart unless I'm holding them. The one biting me is Mel and the one trembling and pooing is Kim (I think). Whether or not I've done the right thing by taking on the responsibility of pet ownership again so soon after the death of Jose - the most spoiled hamster in the history of rodents - only time will tell, I guess.

I've been living the food porn dream with the opening of Whole Foods supermarket chain in Kensington last week and am scared what this means for my weekly grocery bill. I plan on trying to buy most of my produce and some of my grocery items there as much as possible and hang the expense. The quality, taste and overall ethos of the store are worth it for me personally. Finally someone has made food shopping sexy.

After a busy and full week, I had a totally lazy weekend and have finally watched Breakfast at Tiffany's, which was a very different movie to what I was expecting after all these years.
