A Few Plot Twists

What a bimbo of a thing to do. I promptly climbed back on and headed towards home instead (too scary to be out and about when you do stupid things like that). I wanted tea and trinkets because in a moment of mania I decided to go to the Bookcrossing.com meeting/convention in Frankfurt this weekend. So if you've received the email I sent round asking you to come with me to the Antony Gormley opening extravaganza at Southbank on Saturday then please ignore it as I won't be here :)

As I'm out of books to 'wild release', I dropped in to the local library which always has a book sale going for around 20p a book. I nearly passed out with the joy and fear when I saw that they were having a sale on the sale and all books were 5p. Not only that but joy of rapturous joys, there were several German language novels on the shelf so I can feel a tad superior when swanning into the convention. I may not be able to sprechen sie Deutsch but look, I come bearing Deutsch books :)

As I logged on to 'register' the books and label them up for the weekend away, I found an email telling me I'd been guest listed at Shepherds Bush Empire to review a young American fellow called Willy Mason so, fuck it, I went. Two pints later and I was fairly underwhelmed by young Willy but am now faced with the dilemma of writing a review. The confusing thing for me is that the crowd loved him; the crowd were about mumbleteen years younger than me but that is so not the point heh!

Busy week at work with people flying here there and everywhere. Once they get en-route across South America, they never stay on course and there are several itinerary rewrites across the week. It drives me plum crazy but it is more interesting than data entry one guesses ;)

Anyway, must get some beauty sleep as I have to clean the flat, pack a backpack and register some books while finding time to hit the shops and catch up on the admin stuff before I hope the channel once again. I've never been to Germany :)

books, gigs
