When Life Hands You Bananas

Make muffins!

I'm loving the current temp job. The people are fantastically lovely and the ethos of the place is right on. It's truly the most uncityish 'City' office I've ever worked in. I even have a gay boss. I haven't seen an 'out' gay person in about ten years working in Central London. Novel. Anyway, we get a bowl of fruit delivered to the office every single day and on Friday that came along with about 15 bananas LOL. Obviously they were going to go off over the weekend so they were simply trying to get rid of them. I took them home with a view to turning them into muffins and bringing them right back to the office so that's how I came to be up to my elbows in mashed banana and flour at circa 11pm last night. I can report here and now that both natural yoghurt and double cream are equally good substitutes for sour cream if you live in Britain and can't lay your hands on the stuff (it never ceases to amaze me what is impossible to find in some countries but a supermarket staple in others).

The thousand things I forgot to mention in my last post include that I cut my own fringe in frustration at my hairdresser being on holiday and my hair being out of control long. It needs remedial help but I am loath to spend money on a proper haircut right now. It seems like a luxury even though it will humanise me and make me more presentable for job searching. Actually, typing this is probably all the encouragement I needed to sort it out. I'll book an appointment for next week :)

Is it me or does there seem to be an insanely high number of air and flying related accidents lately? I mean more of them than usual. I don't remember a time when so many planes were crash landing or skidding off runways etc. Maybe they are just being reported more and the press are on a 'plane crash' jag.
