First of all, thanks so much for all your hand holding and words of comfort over the last week as I've quietly and swiftly melted down to an emotional shadow of my usually capable self heh.
Second of all, like the little baby Jesus, I'll arrive on Christmas Day. I am now in possession of my passport and although I could have made my original Friday night flight I moved it to the 23rd when I heard the Home Office had sent my passport on Wednesday night. All day Thursday I was like Scrooge at the end of A Christmas Carol terrorising Essex with a broad grin and grandiose declarations of Christmas warmth to everyone I encountered LOL!!!
I've just fumbled through my passport with a friend who had to snatch it off me and find the Residency permit, which is in there and has been granted - I couldn't find it and was sure I'd been rejected... This is all such a tremendous relief and puts in me in the best position to step off the plane next year and surge into a new job and earn some much needed money to pay some seriously mounting bills.
I now have to go and rustle up a cheap dodgy Union Jack tshirt to wear to
minx2012's birthday bash which I'm now in the country to attend. It will make a nice follow up on
fechtbuch's birthday bash on Wednesday wherein I was completely unable to do any braining and was more vague and scattered than usual as I waited for passport news. Lastly, no matter who says what, this was not all a ruse to stay in London for the
Strictly Come Dancing final on Saturday night although bless
Alex26 we've already made plans to make a party of it.
Thank you so much
silverjet_allie and Pete for 'come spend Christmas with my family offers', I'll take a rain cheque on those and see you all next year.
...and the bells were ringing out for Christmas Day.
