Life Has Been - - - (poem)
Hectic.
Like I'm a zombie, walking around, half asleep
Because I don't have the energy anymore
To do anything but sit
And pretend to listen
When really I am elsewhere
Apologizing for all of this
Because I should really pay better attention
But I don't
And in the end
It's guilt that wins me over.
I'm not awake
But my eyes are open
I'm never asleep
When my eyes are closed
They tried to be
My one salvation
But all this work
Left me tired, alone
Looking for the little things
Looking past the dark
Searching for a better place
Hiding past the start
Of something that shouldn't be happening
Something I don't get
Extravagent words don't get my point
Across as much as I wish they would
Because they lie
Exagurate
It's not as bad as I say it is
Just hectic
I'm tired as hell.
