After a tough week, Mr. Junket suggested lunch out, followed by a trip to
our local awesome comic book store, where he immediately asked if they had any stories that were just Captain America and Iron Man. My beloved knows my favorite things. Which is how I found myself at home this afternoon, curled up on the couch, squeeing over
Avengers Prime. All is right in the world.
So it's got some Thor, but it's really a Steve-and-Tony show. It has all my favorite things -- a lover's quarrel (Steve not being sure if the Iron Man shouldn't be worn by someone more trustworthy and reliable than Tony -- meep!) at the top! fighting side by side! having to share a horse!
Yeah, where's Thor? Don't know, don't care.
(Srsly u guys, riding double is just about one of my favoritest things in the universe. I spent so much of The Eagle waiting for it to happen that when it did, I just flailed all over in disbelief.)
Another favorite -- nudity!
Yes, Tony is naked, and happy to see Steve, and yes, that's Steve's sword. I <3 metaphors. Go read, and enjoy.
I am totally head over heels for this pairing. I watched Iron Man 2 again last night and was struck by the moment where Howard Stark, via home video, says that Tony was his proudest creation or the best thing he ever did, something like that. Tony Has A Moment at this, and then it's his turning point where he takes charge, figures his shit out, gets it together, etc. Oh, Tony. Which I had completely forgotten about, and now I want more about Tony reconciling this new idea of his dad, and going to Steve to learn more about him... ::grabby hands:: Want.
