Speculation continues among Saxby scholars. It seems likely that Saxby's primary confidant, Francis Kosegarten, would likely be the photographer. Although it also seems likely that Kosegarten would never have published the pictures, instead choosing to keep them archived until such time as it would be less risky to release them..

most curious of the objects pictured is the unusual orb. Much speculation surrounds it's possible origin.
Were it an object of any substantial power or mystical ability it seems unlikely that Saxby would have had it
so casually available...
