LIVE ACTION DORORO IS AWESOME

Sure, the special effects are pretty silly and there are a lot of changes, but many of them work.

And Hyakkimaru and Dororo's personalities are SPOT ON. Seriously, both actors are incredible and very much in tune with their characters.

I really like the scene when young Hyakkimaru asks what war is, but only telepathically, with his lips sealed.

So the old man tells him to move his mouth when he speaks and takes Hyakkimaru's hand, pressing it against his own mouth while he sounds out the word, because Hyakkimaru can't see him say it.

That bit was actually very realistic compared to the way it was done in the manga. I liked the addition. It's a very sweet scene.

Also, there is something very creepy, yet awesome about a tiny tot fighting with blade-arms.

Why did they have to kill off the old man (who was a physician in the manga and games, for the record), though? ;__;

Poor little Hyakki.

The blind monk became a wandering story teller. I have no clue if he's still supposed to be blind or not.

The score for this film is GREAT.

The revealation about the fourty eight demons outside, instead of in the temple he takes shelter in in the manga and anime.

Dororo's a nasty little thing, isn't he? xDDD

Ah, never mind, the monk-turned-storyteller's still blind.

Those little demon girls were so cute, but evil!

So apparantly in this version, Lady Yugai/Bandai is married and has utterly adorable and horrifying children. Nice to know.

I loved how Dororo cheered up Hyakkimaru. Also, the series of scenes where Hyakkimaru reacquired his missing body parts are some of the funniest and cutest in the entire film.

Poor Hyakkimaru, he can hear for the very first time in his life, and Dororo decides to assault his sensitive ear with BRO, ARE YOU OKAY?!?!?!

Then he proceeds to chase Hyakkimaru around, asking if he's okay, while the poor guy yells at him to shut up. xD

I also loved the scene where he regained his voice. And Dororo told him to cry his name. "DORORO!! DORORO!!"

So, yeah. The manga is better, but the movie's still great.

The acting is EXCELLENT.
