I just went on to book three in the Chronicles of Narnia, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Well, actually I consider it book four with The Magician's Nephew being the rightful first book, but I digress. The first sentence in the book goes like so:

There was a boy called Eustace Clarence Scrubb, and he almost deserved it.

I forgot how much I enjoyed these books. After not reading them in so many years it's strange to compare the images I formed in my mind when I first read this series to the images I'm forming now. But there hardly is comparison. One of the oddest things about growing up is seeing everything so differently, but with these books the view hasn't changed so much at all. In this way I'm very hesitant to see the movie in a way I wasn't with even with Tolkien's books. I'd be very sorry to have my own images of C.S. Lewis's story be replaced by those of Hollywood's.

Has anyone seen it already? I'd be interested in both the opinions of people who have read the books and those who have not.
