By the way, if I counted correctly I have published 44 stories/installments in this LJ over the past 13 months. *scratches head* Is that a lot?

Now what do you think of the authors my style can apparently be likened to? I have to confess that I'm not familiar with the style of most, though safe for two or three I've at least heard of all. Some of the likenesses amuse me endlessly, some puzzle me. I think it's great that AYIS is mainly comprised of Chuck Palahniuk and Stephen King if only because according to this tool it means I've kept a style.

The thing is, I don't really know what to make of this list. Now I don't know how the tool operates, and I sent my fics through for the lulz mainly... it would certainly be interesting to feed my older works to it, but I kind of don't want to currently.

But the main problem I've always head with myself is that I find myself lacking a distinct style, a certain... voice so to speak? I have yet to find what makes me unique as an author, especially since I will soon starting to be writing my novel in earnest. And in order for that to ever get published... I believe it is important for me to develop my own style. Otherwise I'm just one of many just as I am now, right?

Anyhow, thoughts?
