Picspam for picspammy , inspired by hydrogens 's lovely picspam. SPOILERS for 24, Bones, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice. List isn't ranked because I couldn't bring myself to do so :P

In choosing my list I found myself time and time again going to female characters who were flawed but realistic, with actresses who are talented enough to make me laugh, cry and smile right along with the characters (and are incredibly attractive to boot :P). Most of my favourites are female characters who weren't introduced merely to be love interests, rather they have their own strengths, weaknesses, and careers. They are strong, witty, intelligent and good at what they do... anyway.

Without further ado:

Angela Montenegro, Bones

I love Angela to bits- she adds so much humanity and compassion to the Jeffersonian, and is a wonderful sounding board for the rest of the team. I lovelovelove her marriage to Hodgins and her friendship with Bones and I really hope that she gets more much deserved screentime in future episodes, especially as her pregnancy progresses.

Ariadne, Inception

I loved this movie, and Ariadne's character was incredible- plus, I love Ellen Page.

Arizona Robbins, Grey's Anatomy

It's strange that Arizona is the only character from Grey's to have made the list this year- Grey's is my favourite guilty pleasure, and it's been pretty good this year. There's something about Arizona that always makes me smile, and she's always so cheerful and courageous and so right. You just have to love her. Also, Callie/Arizona=love.

Camille 'Cam' Saroyan, Bones

Tamara Taylor does not get a quarter of the recognition she deserves, which is a shame because she is a fantastic actress. Cam is an incredible leader- strong, loyal and kind- and is often the only one willing to stand up to Bones, which is important. She's so complex and I wish we saw more of her- that scene in the opening of the ship exhibit was heartbreaking. Well, heart crushing. You get the idea. I cried right along with her attempts to stay in control and calm. Again, Tamara Taylor is wonderful.

Charlotte King, Private Practice

I haven't been following Private Practice much lately, but I picked it up again recently and Charlotte King has blown me out of the water. Her major storyline is terrifying and heartbreaking yet KaDee plays it with so much grace and strength. It's just a very raw, real portrayal and props to the Private Practice team for writing it out so well.

Chloe O'Brian, 24

Let me take a moment here to say how sad I was to see the clock count down for the final time on 24- the show had run its course and it was a good time to end the series, but it was still difficult to see the clock tick away one last time. Chloe O'Brian was incredible in this last day, standing up to Jack, running CTU, and I was so pleased to see her get the recognition she has long deserved. Out of all the characters she has grown the most and while Renee Walker and Michelle Dessler will always be among my favourite 24 characters, this year was all Chloe's. I may need to make a 24 tribute picspam, I watched it for so many years and I will miss seeing Jack Bauer save the world over and over again!

Hermione Granger, Harry Potter

Need I really say anything more? Hermione = awesome. The person I always wanted to be ever since I read the first book. The seventh movie may very well be my favourite of the movies, mostly due to the trio's roles. It was magnificent.

Jules, The Kids Are All Right

This is one movie I saw on the plane ride over and I absolutely loved it. Julianne Moore can do no wrong, for one, but I loved the way Jules was written and how she was portrayed- so very flawed, so very human, but struggling to do her best. The Kids Are All Right is an incredible movie- I highly, highly recommend it. Unconventional but completely worth it. I didn't like Annette Benning's character as much but the actress herself was flawless- the cast all around was amazing.

Temperance 'Bones' Brennan, Bones

Bones has grown SO much this year, and it is again, heartbreaking to see how things have turned out. Also, can we just take a moment here to look at the pretty that is Emily Deschanel? All those expressions, all those emotions... she is just gorgeous. This character never fails to make me cry right along with her, and so I have been doing a lot of crying as I watch this season. Grrr.

Tami Taylor, Friday Night Lights

I'm only on the first season of Friday Night Lights, and I adore it already, in no small part due to this woman. Her relationship with Coach is wonderfully portrayed and I love how wise, assertive and intelligent she is without losing compassion- incredible character, incredible portrayal. I haven't seen the rest of the seasons yet, but it's easy to see why Connie Britton got an Emmy nod this year. So well deserved.

No reposting images, commenting is appreciated, and all that jazz. Special thanks to HOTN caps for many of the screencaps!

Wishing you all a very happy new year in advance! I hope you are enjoying time with loved ones and that you have a wonderful new year ahead of you.
