I'm on a total Night Watch kick. This can't be good for my sanity. Anyways, watched the film with my mum on Friday, then went hunting for Day Watch pictures to distract me from doing whatever else I should have done today. Also, I'm depressed about the result of Any Dream Will Do. Depressed, I tell ya.

Anton Gorodetsky is a Light Other. This means he has special powers. Anton is also an agent of the Night Watch, the police force that makes sure the Dark Others do not abuse their powers. The Day Watch makes sure the Light Others do not break the Treaty, either.
Recently, Anton discovered that he has a son. This should make him happy. Unfortunately, Anton once tried to kill this son before he was born. Then, before he knew that 12-year-old Egor was his son, he tried to help him turn to the Light, because Egor is also an Other. He is supposedly a Great Other, one who will shift the balance of Light and Dark, ending the war for good. It all depends on which side Egor picks. Even more unfortunately, there was a bit of a mix-up involving Zavulon, chief of the Day Watch, and Anton's second, stupid attempt to kill his son. Egor chose Dark. Anton was sad.
Anton needs a stiff drink.

It's really a good thing Konstantin Khabensky looks good when he's smeared in blood. Otherwise this role? Would be painful. This also goes some way to helping with the Anton/Kostya naughty blood fic I'm beating my head against. mmmmm.

As a footnote... did anyone watch Victoria's Empire this evening? I love Victoria Wood anyway, but this documentary was just lovely. We don't learn enough about our own history, or anything at all about the Empire other than that we had one and it was Bad. It was fascinating to see these different cultures apart from anything else, but the history was brilliant, too.
I'll have to watch Doctor Who at some point... though the generally blah reaction is making me a little apprehensive...
