I am returned from Sheffield, and the university has just been bumped up from bottom of the pile to third in line. If Durham don't respond positively, it will most likely be my second choice. The English Department was just brilliant. But that's not why I'm posting today...

Well, Shakespeare wasn't exactly the straightest chap around so...

But I'm so ridiculously jealous of you getting to see Sam wrestling without his shirt... and of course the whole play which sounds awesome, but mainly it's the wrestling.

Thanks for posting about it, I read with much interest and vicarious squee. You should link to this on robinhoodbbc they do accept posts about actors in other roles and there surely are Much fans out there who would love to read about this more...

Well, what with that and the apparent Antonio/Bassanio unrequited gay love of the Merchant of Venice I am inclined to believe that Shakespeare was one of the original English slashers ;)

(hee! I can't remember if I put it above, but he kept calling Man-Rosalind "pretty youth" which must be incorporated into fic somewhere so I can remember how lecherously Sam said it. If there was wrestling in this fic, I would die and go to heaven right there.)

And yeah, I'll definitely do that link thing... I wasn't sure about doing it, but if they accept actorly posts it is my duty to spread the squee ;)

:g: guess you've never heard the line about 'if they're called Antonio they're automatically gay' in Shakespeare plays? (seriously, Twelfth Night, Merchant of Venice, the list goes on...)

And heh, the 'outside of sherwood' tag is tere for a reason.

Wow 0_0 I had never heard that... I'm going to need to read me some more Shakespeare...

And did I not tag it right? *panics* I haven't tagged it here, but I'm sure I did in the com...

no, you did.

And yeah, every Antonio I've seen is normally in love with some young male in the cast.
