Legendary Episode Review :P

It's that time again!

Robin Hood: Sins of the Father

SHERIFF. You are so deeply unpleasant and yet you do it with such style that I cannot help but love you. I don’t give you enough love in my reviews (mostly because it’s vaguely unpleasant) but here it is: You rocked this episode.

HOLY SHIT DID MUCH AND ROBIN JUST HAVE A CONVERSATION?! I guess it doesn’t really count, since Much was just being the Exposition Boy, but that was a damn sexy wink right there, Robin.

Also, I’m fairly certain someone (other than the weasily maths-doing guy) got their ++
numbers wrong this episode. If Rufus’ father was killed when Rufus was 17, and that was the Sheriff’s first act of Official Murder, then Rufus is, at the very most, 24 years old. Remember those five years Robin and Much were away? The Sheriff came into power in that time, right?

And if Rufus is 22 then he fathered Edmund when he was … seven years old.

Either I missed something or this is our retcon episode speaking, and everything has changed somewhat.

Woah, realistic plague sores! Or, no, wait, bee stings. Right.

Was there like a competition to find villains to out-pantomime the Sheriff? Because that is a losing battle right there, Mr. Melodrama. At least you have a somewhat decent backstory that Little John got to narrate. Normally I’m against the “Oh yeah, now I remember!” school of exposition, but John having actual lines is so rare I’m willing to let it slide.

Oh, and bad CGI should never, ever be the sole crutch of the dramatic climax of an episode. Just say no, writers!

DAMMIT KATE. You’re growing on me again. And apparently you have a really lovely smile, tend to Much when he gets punched in the FACE, have awesome banter with Allan and gave Little John the chance to have his single best scene of the series so far. Fine, you can stay. But if Much makes that sad face anymore, I’ll be rethinking my options. And most of them involve knives, mkay?

SPEAKING OF MUCH. So, he can be disarmed and hit in the nose by one guy but can defend himself perfectly well against a hoard of armed and armoured soldiers? And this is the second time he’s ballsed up a one-on-one fight this series. The last time it got him branded (WHICH I HAVEN’T FORGOTTEN ABOUT) and this one got him punched. I don’t like it, and I’ve got my social worked on standby in case things get more dangerous.

Tuck. I liked him this episode. Though I think David Harewood is possibly the least comfortable of all the actors - he seems to have one volume that he likes and doesn’t want to let go of. However, using Much as a range weapon? Hilarious. I should be angry, but it was just too awesome.
