I'm Drowning in Footwear

So, I finished Buffy yesterday. I watched the first three disks of season 7 straight through on Sunday, and the second three through on yesterday. I'd intended to work in the garden, do dishes, etc, but I was moody and it didn't matter so I just watched Buffy. It occurred to me that watching so many hours of scary vampires and evil demons all together might give me nightmares, but I persevered.

Last night, I had a nightmare that I couldn't wake out of. I had lost a pair of shoes in the vacation-home for the elderly that I was staying in (with family?). I asked for help, and the dozens of senile old people in the place started looking for my shoes. Or, rather, they pulled out every pair of shoes they could find, which turned out to be thousands. It started that they pulled them out to show to me, but after a while they started just throwing shoes at me. Meantime, every friend I have ever had seemed to be showing up outside, waiting to go to the clubs (?) until I found my shoes. But I couldn't find them, and was covered in shoes that weren't mine. It quickly went from being frustrating to frightening as the piles of shoes grew higher and my darling friends grew more impatient and angry.

Some of you (Richard, surely) will recall the odd moment in the last episode where Spike wakes up from a dream, panicked, and shouts "I'm drowning in footwear!" Of all the scary things that my subconscious could have seized on, I get footwear nightmares.
