Title: Five Arguments Skulduggery Couldn't Win: The One about the Mobile Phone
Rating: G
Word Count: 134
Characters: Skulduggery, Stephanie
Notes: So, um, you know how you always start out in a new fandom with something that makes no sense and is a litle spotty in characterisation? Um. BACO PLEASE DON'T KILL ME. [Set after the first book, ignores the fact that by the second book Skulduggery definitely had a mobile phone, even if I don't remember if he does in the first book.]
"What if something happens?" Stephanie asked, holding out a rather battered old mobile phone - her dad's old one, she'd said. "Forces of evil, Ghastley waking up -"
"I know where you are, I'll come and get you."
"What if something happens to me?" Stephanie said, and before he could open his mouth, she added "Something you weren't responsible for."
"I don't take responsibility for anything that happens to you," Skulduggery said. "You get in enough trouble on your own." And she was going to end up able to actually get herself out of it on her own, when she had enough practice - especially considering who was teaching her. But in the meantime...
"I'm not using one as old as that," Skulduggery said, resigned, and tried not to look at Stephanie's smug grin.
