Now that Desire is winding down, I've been thinking about what I want to do next on DA. Competitions are fun, but they are limiting in certain ways, and I want my next project to be more of a creative effort than a 'I ELIMINATE JOOOO' type thing.
As a side note, I've discovered exactly how draining working full-time can be in terms of time available for DeviantArt, and hopefully I'll be better prepared in managing it. Desire was very useful in that it showed me all the problems that coordinating something like this can bring up.
I'm tentatively calling this new project Synchronicity.
Synchronicity: syn·chro·nic·i·ty \ˌsiŋ-krə-ˈni-sə-tē, ˌsin-\ n.
1 : the quality or fact of being synchronous
2 : the coincidental occurrence of events and especially psychic events (as similar thoughts in widely separated persons or a mental image of an unexpected event before it happens) that seem related but are not explained by conventional mechanisms of causality.
Perhaps some of the meaning behind this word as the title will become apparent later. /mysterious
The setting for this little soiree will be a private boarding school up in the Rocky Mountains. Those who wish to participate will write up and roleplay students at the school. I will serve as narrator and controller of all non-writer characters, soooo basically I will be the DM. -snerk-
Each character will have a secret that is included in the profile when the writer submits it to me, but will not be known to the other characters/writers. I will spend some time crafting the secrets into a whole and changing them so they interact with each other for maximum complication. Yes, this means that you may need to re-write some of your character to participate, but I'm not going to be a dictator about it. It will be a joint creative process.
I will be adapting the
Cross-Genre Character Profile for use with this.
BTW this whole thing will be open for like a maximum of 8 people.
MORE DETAILS TO COME!
