Summary: Heechul has bad dreams, Hangeng plays protector and Heebum is.....Heebum.
Hangeng awoke from a deep and peaceful sleep to the sensation of something touching his arm. He jumped a mile in the air, flailing wildly and heard a low growl, followed by an angry hiss as his forearm connected with fur.
“Aauugh!” He cried as a smear of gray flew by. He quickly moved away, narrowly missing being clawed to death.
“Heebum, shhh.” Hangeng heard a voice say, and he blinked into the darkness. He glanced at his clock and saw it said 4:34am. He reached over and snapped on the light and saw Heechul standing there, looking at him.
“Heechul-ah, what are you doing?” he blinked, rubbing his eyes and looking at Heebum, who was now resting peacefully in Heechul’s arms like a spoiled, sleek death machine.
“I couldn’t sleep. Can I sleep with you?” Heechul said, the tips of his ears going a little bit pink.
“Yeah but not with that….thing.” Hangeng pointed at Heebum, who glared at him as if he knew what Hangeng was saying. As if in answer, Heebum jumped out of Heechul’s arms and sashayed out of the room, tail in the air. Heechul wasted no time, jumping into bed with Hangeng and squirming under the covers.
Hangeng smiled to himself and snapped off the light, settling back into the small bed next to his hyung.
“Did you have the dream again?” He asked in the dark. Heechul was silent, but it was as good as a ‘yes’. “You know whatever you think is watching you at night isn’t some creepy ghost, but more likely that gray demon you call a cat.” Hangeng grinned, knowing the only way to set Heechul at ease after his repeat nightmare was to tick him off. Sure enough, Heechul snorted and punched Hangeng in the stomach.
“Aish, shut up and go to sleep.” He muttered. Hangeng only smiled and closed his eyes, happy to play protector for the rest of the night.
