Where:
The Chipotle Laboratory, at the Pier
When: After
this post (also uh I guess they changed plans cuz now she's visiting him. Yes.)
Who: Dr. Chipotle Jr. and Heloise
What: A meeting between two young mad scientists!
Warnings: Attempts at flirting in Spanish?
The young scientist flicked on as many lights as he could in his dark sea-side laboratory. The building was huge and empty, and light seemed like the only possible way to fill it. Every room was hollow and drowned in shades of blue, completely unlike the home he was used to. There were no failed experiments begging for tinkering, no jars of jalapenos and spices at his command- and no father to bring life and insane laughter to this hauntingly cold shell. He scowled and wandered back to his pathetically small workspace, knowing full well that it would start filling up with fulfilled ideas soon. Hopefully.
At the moment, all he had to work with were a few scraps of things he had picked up around the city- stolen computers from the library, bags of groceries from the convenience store that was as empty as his home, and some pieces of sheet metal he found in a nearby warehouse. He was amazed that he was able to find it all and never stumble across a single person, why were all these things just laying around in a nearly-abandoned city?It didn't make any sense! Still, he wasn't going to let it go to waste. The metal and computer pieces were being slowly and unproductively being fashioned into a teleporter, but after it's most recent explosion he decided to tackle that one again later...
His scientific workspace was also adjacent to a small cooking area, where the finest ingredients where laid out adjacent to bottles and test tubes of bubbling chemicals. Ohhh, this was his favorite part of being a scientist- BIOENGINEERING~ When he could bend genetics, ingredients at his will and bring life into existence- he felt like a god. This wasn't just a science, this was an art; when he was engulfed in his work he felt absolutely impenetrable.
He started grabbing for ingredients, chopping and cutting and plopping pieces of avocado into boiling vats of mysterious liquids, in motions that were as much second nature as breathing. As he began to work, his mind raced back to the girl he had met over the communicators. She appeared to be around his age, she had a laboratory, and she was absolutely, deliciously evil. And not only that, but she actually listened to him when he rambled! There was something about her that he liked, a lot. It was something in the way that she carried herself, the power and the confidence in her own abilities that practically gave him chills. And the fact she could be from another world? That was beyond intriguing, if only he could see for himself!! If that stupid teleporter stopped flipping out, maybe he could.
He hoped she was on her way soon, after their meet over the communication devices, he was excited to have actual face-to-face interaction with somebody! He quickly tossed all of his chemically-enhanced ingredients into a bowl and stirred absent-mindedly with a wooden spoon. He leaned against the counter and sighed, hoping that the loneliness would be over soon.
