It was somewhat frustrating, really. To continuously find herself blocked from completing what would have been a simple task at home. But.... Without her manufacturing section, her production lines and access to materials, she supposed it was only to be expected that she'd run into this wall. A lot. Her continued attempts to expand her chamber were proving far too difficult. Either the soil was too soft and would collapse before bracing could be put up, or was far too hard for her to break through with her current means.

She recalled seeing equipment more conducive towards excavation in Trevor's compound, and when she'd finally had enough of breaking her things, she was not shy in turning to him. She did not state directly what she needed. If the answer was a possible no, she needed to be there face to face. To make her offer a little more appealing so to speak.

She wouldn't take long, and soon enough, the android was outside the compound, patiently waiting for the door to be let in.

Ah, right on cue. The machine had been reliable in her punctuality. He saw her on the camera screen. His fingers wander over to a button, opening the compound gates to the machine.

He called over the intercom, "Excellent, we can get started soon."

The machine's intents were always occluded, but then again, so were his. It was the nature of a politician such as himself. He walks down to the gate, welcoming her in, "What might you be interested in?"

She simply entered quickly and quietly, immediately directing her attention to Trevor. At least she could honestly rely on him for this, a nice constant, aside from the the whole time he spent dead with his compound in pieces, of course.

GLaDOS got right to the point. "The chamber lacks appropriate machinery necessary for expansion. Unfortunately. Normally I'd just construct something myself, but thanks to a certain non-elected incompetent figure head here, my production lines failed to make the trip with me.

I had noted upon my first arrival here some equipment that might actually be semi-useful. I am requesting access to this equipment."

"Ah, you wish to perform some excavation," he walked towards the compound, keeping an officious air about him.

"Yes, I might be able to aid your endeavor."

He enters the elevator, "Care to join me?"

She followed after him. At this point, she had memorized the usual route around the compound, and all the rooms that they passed through. She practically knew the place like the back of her hand, or at least, this section. So the offer of a trip to a new and unseen section was not something she could reject.

"Good. The supplies here are of a far higher quality than anything else I'm going to find. And the company is a lot more tolerable and doesn't make me want to pour hot lead into my eyes. So I am, in fact, willing to make a trade for these items should their value be too high for freely lending them."

She easily stepped in along side him, wires shifting and readjusting to avoid brushing against him or getting caught in the door.

He moves towards the elevator and shuts the door behind them. He selects a number of buttons to press before they start moving to the new room.

"It's rare to find sane company in this place. It's almost sickening."

"Almost? You certainly have an impressive amount of patience, then." She took note of the buttons, the order pressed, the number on each, filing it all away.

"Well, at least there's nothing forcing any of us to interact on a regular basis. Usually. Except for the sociopathic little monsters that break in now and again but I'm starting to realize that might just be a fact of life at this point."

Trevor visibly winced at the mention of 'sociopathic monsters'. That pink creature...how much he loathed it.

"Ngh," the doors opened, "Of course. I might have to update security with the amount of intrusions at this moment."

As she well remembered. She had her own little mentally unbalanced problem to deal with as it was, but at least hers didn't have a habit of hunting her down and turning her into a science project.

"I suppose perhaps having a more intelligent security system might help with that. I certainly know mine has been doing a fairly decent job as of late."

In the hall laid several machines, golden in color, but worm-like in structure. They laid inert, ready for use at any moment.

"I would welcome any suggestions...particularly with warding any pink nuisances."

Almost immediately she began to inspect them, from the strength of the metal to just where the specific controls may be. While she never did face Trevor, she did continue to speak, examining the front of these machines.

"Intelligence is crucial. A basic understanding of what to look for and what to focus on. Something with a sort of sentience about it, but still dumb enough to have to ask for orders every now and again. Without the downsides of needing things like sleep and food, so already my suggestion is better than hiring guards.

I am willing to give you blue prints to construct your own simplistic AI for use in a more secure defense system. In exchange for one of these."

AI? Consider Trevor intrigued. A thin smile forms across his long face.

"I've rarely worked with machines, but considering the circumstances, a few would be quite useful."

"Their construction is laughably simple if you look over the schematics. I'm sure you won't have a problem with it." She finally looked away from the worm-like construct, diverting that yellow eyed stare to him.

"They are remarkably self sufficient too. After the right kind of coding. Trust me, you won't have to worry about intruders ever again."

"Interesting...why yes, I believe it might improve the compound's integrity."

He gazes over his own machinery, though simple at best, "Do you find it to your liking?"

Simple, but then again what amounted to a shovel didn't need to be complex. There simply was no powerful or strong enough material here to construct something to her liking. It was far, far easier to just take it from someone else.

"They will do. As long as they're not prone to exploding or suddenly developing full sentience, they look like they'll do their jobs nicely.

I'll trade you some basic schematics for it. That's all you'll really need for some camera's more decent than the ones you have now."

Those were shovels made with Bregna's tax dollars, missy.

"Nonsense, they're totally obedient and proven to be resilient. They've proven to be efficient transportation from time to time."

Ah, yes. Jackpot, "Excellent. I've been needing to update these obsolescent camera in any case."
