She remembered that there were murmurs of a dragon in the city, but before now, Berri hadn't seen anything. It only stands to reason that the creature would want to spread her wings after that whole Discord thing. She fared better than most, herself, but... even still.

...did she dare?

Throwing caution to the wind, the girl follows along until she makes sure she's unobserved from the ground. There's a brief flicker of pink light, and then quickly, a small pink... thing swoops up alongside her, casually speaking.

In... her... head. Hooray for telepathy.

Whatcha dooooooooooin'?

Saft gasps not suddenly expecting the voice inside of her head, the only time that ever happened was around other dragons and that was only because dragon mouths weren't really made for speaking as much as they were built for crunching and eating and well dragon-stuff.

She comes to a stop midflight and hovers there for a little while until she notices the strange little pink creature besides her.

Flying mostly and looking for something.

...What are you?

The Mew envelops herself in a pink psychic bubble for a moment to make herself more noticable, before popping it and floating upward to look into the dragon's eyes.

Well, I suppose I'm something. Am I the something you're looking for? Probably not, unless you're looking for a snack.

Can I help?

What? No. Why would I eat you...? Why do people always assume-

Yes, that would be Saft the dragon very offended. It's always a pain when people make those assumptions about dragons especially the ones in Dragonsbayne. It'd be great if one day humans could actually understand that dragons weren't the monsters they believed they were.

And no. You're not what I was looking for. You wouldn't have happened to come across someplace surrounded by Apple blossoms would you? I've been here for almost two weeks and I still haven't actually found where my uncle's house has been situated.

Oh, come on. A snout like that? Clearly you eat meat of SOME sort. Or other dragons from your world do.

There's a bit of a pause, as Mew considers. Apple blossoms, apple blossoms...

I don't know. The only place with really notable blossoms that I can think of is the flower garden, but that's someone else's home. You wouldn't happen to know anyone like that? About as big as your nostril, dresses like a strawberry, speaks with hearts? ♥

Well, sure I do but I'd never hunt and kill! That's not me!

The Mew was starting to become more than just a little rude, who was she to assume that Saft would be the same sort of dragon you'd hear about from some folksy tale where a dragon would swoop in from out of no where and rip some poor unfortunate cattle to shreds with her fangs?

She sighs to herself and looks down again, why was finding Gladinus' place so hard? It wasn't exactly hard to miss. Perhaps the city was playing some sort of cruel prank on her?

Yeah, I've tasted those strawberries, they're great...Look, I'd really like to find my home. There's something I need to check out.

I'm sorry for assuming. Look at it this way, that means there won't be anyone aiming to plunge their sword into your belly again and again!

The way she phrased that was intentionally meant to have that double meaning, so... yeah, Berri is still being a little rude. She swoops around, though, and floats above Saft, considering.

Is it technically "your" home? It's possible that it didn't show up here. Especially if your uncle is a strong enough magician to stop whatever forces brought YOU here.

The last part was a wild guess, but either way, she made it clear quite quickly that she was prodding around in dragonbrains unpermitted.

She frowns a little, she had gathered this little creature had to have powers of somekind but the way she so freely decides to talk about how Saft personally feels towards her home and what she knows about her uncle, that makes her feel entirely unsettled.

Hey how are you-?! You're reading my thoughts aren't you?!

And if the Mew knew her thoughts, god knows what else she already knows about her.

Stay out of my head!

Will do. To be honest, I was only skimming the surface. If you feel kind enough to trust me, then take my word that all I caught was what you were actively thinking at the moment before I talked.

The creature sighs, a little, shaking her head, as she floats to the side.

I suppose I was wrong in assuming a dragon would be different from a human, as well. Tch, a shame... I know everybody has their secrets, but if something is actively hurting you, you should speak up about it.

What a hypocrite she felt like, thinking about that. At the same time, she knew the consequences of speaking up.

...Unless you think your problems will put others in danger if they knew, of course.

It's not a secret, it's just something I don't want to think or ever have to go through again.

And if I ever find out you've been poking your mind where it doesn't belong, I might actually take up chomping weird flying pink cat creatures like you.

Saft isn't normally this defensive, so whatever it is she's hiding from the creature she obviously has good reason to. Saft frowns some and decides to head to the ground, As good as it felt to spread her wings she always felt more comfortable when she was in her human form.

"...I think you'll find that dragons and humans have more in common than you think. I just happen to share the best of both worlds."

Mew follows, though she gives some distance. It's not because Saft is suddenly contemplating how rude pink things would taste dipped in teriyaki, but because of the last statement.

Mn. A damn shame. I suppose it's karma catching up to me again... I was rude to you, so you ruined all of dragonkind for me...

"Me?!" She quips. "How did I ruin dragonkind for you? Just because we're not what you expected it doesn't mean you have to have to badmouth us."

True she wanted to word that a little angrier than it came out, But what was the point in that? Perhaps with a little more understanding or whatever she and this Mew could become friends.

The creature sighs. My differences with humankind are irreconcilable. I cannot forgive them for what the worst of their kind can manage. Even if not all humans are like that, the fact that they allow such evils to exist...

The creature starts to glow faintly, and it doesn't take a psychic to know that it's her rage that's fueling the harsh aura. If dragons are not different from humans, then that implies that they too are willing to enslave, kill, and maim for their own amusement and gluttony for knowledge and power. Is this true, or untrue?

"Some yes! But that's not what they're supposed to stand for at all!" Quickly jumping to the defense of her kind, At one time in her life Saft had believed the same thing. that dragons were disgusting wicked creatures and the very fact that she shared the same blood as them was a sick curse.

But the truth was the dragons in Dragonsbayne weren't anything like Mew had described. "I know they show a harsh exterior on the outside, But I've spent time with them, I know them! I know they can love and I know they can hurt when they're sad...We're not monsters, we make mistakes sometimes sure, but isn't that true of every type of creature?"

The mistakes that were made by humans when I first met them...

The mew sighs, deeply, staring off into the distance. Not all humans are evil, either. But those that are good... sit by, and do nothing while the evil ones control them like puppets... do dragons do that..? Or are the dangerous ones brought down...?
