Holy Dawdlings

Last night dom_ino and I watched a Pedro Almodovar movie Dark Habits (Entre tinieblas). I love the way it wound the absurd, the farcical, tighter and tighter until it was nearly wrung dry. Almost 18th-century, done in the 80s. A nightclub singer goes into hiding in a convent where the sisters have names like Sister Rat of the Sewers, Sister Damned, and Sister Manure. Within the walls, there's a heroin addict, a tiger, a fashion seamstress, and a trash novelist. The movie ends with a show/performance.

Hehehe ... .

Joe washed all his clothes last night and got everything packed. He leaves early Thursday morning for Short Mountain, spending 11 days with the Faeries. Today's his last day at work, and I can see the excitement building. He is more than ready to go.

This morning my friend Michelle calls. Her car has broken down again and she needs a ride to the library, work. I love her candor. We were driving down Poplar, and she said, "Look at me. I am so poor I am digging lipstick out of the tube with a key. And then using the key to spread it on."

Tonight, the weekly Faerie potluck is at our place. I am going easy: I am going to throw vegetables into macaroni and cheese. Hopefully the place won't be too much of a mess, and we'll be able to clean up swiftly and efficiently after.

.....

Cos I fly to San Francisco in just three days! I can't believe I haven't exploded in anticipation. ::bows head:: I am seeing the waiting as my hairshirt before heaven, though.

Everyone please bow your heads for the city, poor f8n_begorra and whiskerfish, for my persevering people here upon my spoiled and funky self's return.
