The Sweat Flies from the Brow

My car did more than well yesterday. It practically soared to Little Rock, without jerks, without coughs, without stalls, without warning dashboard lights. I had to rub the steering wheel appreciatively.

It was really good to hang out with creepy1966, to meet his wife T., see his daughter Lillian and his friend Arturo again. I sort of dallied in my mind with the allure of a smaller city, since it seemed possible to me that the place had a slower pace, which I liked. It was exactly what I had planned for my day off: jaw with B, listen to music with him, drive around town a little, grab a bite at his favorite Indian restaurant, meet T. and hang out with the two of them some. He sent me home with a stack of new cds and some books on spirituality. Thank you for an amazing day, Bub.

Oh. And I stole your red lighter. Hehe.

Got back into Memphis around 10, picked up Joe, had a couple of drinks and talked to him. Really good conversation. I slid into sleep completely enriched, heavy and smiling.

daytripping, food, friends
