The Old Curiosity Shop

I don't watch television at home, don't get the channels. Lately, though, I've been working my way through the first season of one of my favorite series from past memory, Northern Exposure.

The characters are drawn so strongly and richly that, even while the characters constantly defy stereotype, they also seem to represent an array of common personality types, almost as if you could find yourself in any one or all of them.

So, who's your favorite?

Mine is definitely the drily observant, matronly-but-girlish, bird-watching shopkeeper, Ruth-Anne, and I can think of all manner of things that says about me.

personality, nostalgia, television, characterization
