It's hard enough having very individualized high ideals. But then it's all the harder when a society of enforcers pits itself against you, trying to force you -- a square peg -- into their hole. That's when it becomes especially important to have someone who'll scratch your back, share in your vision.

Hot Fuzz had me grinning and squirming in my seat. It's a smart but seamlessly fun movie that tweaks genre and reminds me that being a sidekick, a partner in crime, is one of the most guiltlessly pleasing things in the world. I could talk it to death, but just plain won't.
