Last month I decided to broaden my student activities by volunteering at one of the student nations. Being the ray of sunshine and optimism I went there convinced that I would do a lousy job, spill beer over people and have a terrible time. The first hour or two was a bit hectic and frightening, but by the end of the night I was completely sold. I loved it. I came back for more. And more. And more. Currently I've got an official position as a worker, and a bit more responsibility. Well, basically, it's my job to clean the bathrooms and other things nobody else wants to do, but hey, you've got to start somewhere, right? :P
I've met so many awesome people! There's a really nice and laid-back air, and I tend to forget for a second that I don't actually know anyone that well. I can come from a visit to my classmate who lives in the nation building, and run into some people on my way out. They ask me if I want a cup of tea, and before I know it I've spent two hours chitchatting and watching youtube videos. This has led to me spending more and more time there, and I'm rarely home anymore. :P It sounds like a complete sect, but haha. ^^
