And you guys thought Starscream was big.  Another robotic Goliath is shot into the air before falling hard onto the pavement.  In fact, that pavement is

[Well, after Seven showing up and a distinct lack of her getting kidnapped or crushed, not to mention the church being a bit crispy, Six is lingering around the fountain. Again.

Don't mind him. He's just going to panic. Because... a giant robot just came shooting out of the well, what the hell would you do? How well are you paying attention, Opie? A little black and white terrified blur just shot past you and behind a lamp.]

[Optimus sees the lamp jiggle a bit and his optics contract, getting a closer look. Yes...something just darted behind that little piece of furniture.]

Ratchet, if you can hear this...I believe I have a visual of the life forms that reside in this area.

[He comes closer to the lamp and inspects it.]

Do not be afraid...I will not harm you.

[Yeah, that's more or less what the last giant talking transforming robot said.

There's faint clicking... before a pair of mismatched optics are peering up at Optimus, the doll just barely sticking his head out from behind the lamp post.]

[Approaching this little creature would only frighten it, so Optimus keeps his distance, letting Six have his space.]

I'm afraid I do not understand. If by my statement, and you believe I will harm you, I will vow to keep my distance until you feel it is alright for me to apporach.

[OH GOOD GRAVY, they never cease leaving him alone! One, spying the huge robot, immediately rushes under the well, attempting to keep out of the transformer's line of sight.

Could that well never cease spitting up its horrors?]

[Optimus has been in war enough to know to not let minor movements go off radar. He catches the little scampering One, bending down to get a closer look under the well]

[When in doubt, back up or call for back up--either way, he's backing up.]

[Optimus makes no advancement towards One. In fact, he's known by now that following might indicate hostility.]

I'm afraid I don't understand...

[A dapper-looking businessman happens to witness the eruption of metal from the well. He lets out a low whistle.]

Isn't that something else? Hey uncle sam, come over here a second.

[He motions over the hulking metal man.]

[Optimus looks over and spots the man. Was he talking to him? The motions were directed at him...so he had to just assume.]

I am sorry but...I am not named Sam.

[Cave doesn't respond verbally, simply motioning Optimus over to him. Whatever he has to say, it certainly looks important.]

[Not about to deny a request from a race that he loves so dearly, he takes a few steps over (the ground shaking a bit as he does so) and bends down.]

[If One is near the Well then Eight is near it too. It's not like they have a lot of places to go after their home pretty much burnt down.

The moment he sees the giant robot, he grabs the handle of one of his weapons and dives for cover.]

[That's it. Optimus is convinced that this place's population completely consists of these little dolls. He sees this one...although bigger than most, it's still quite tiny. He watches him dive for cover and he bends over in his direction.]

[Well it's not like his last encounter with a robot as big as you went very well!]

[Come any closer and he'll have to... attack you with half a pair of scissors. Yeah, fear them.]

[Well he can understand that his size is an issue. But he doesn't make any sort of advancement towards Eight.]

[Action] STUDY /ALL/ THE AUTOBOTS

There was a shimmer along the surface of one of the buildings flanking the well, resembling a mirage created by heat - only it was occasionally puncuated by a red spark. The oblong shimmer had approached from another direction in the city, and cast a shadow - the visual remnants of a damaged but somewhat functioning cloaking device.

The shimmer evaporated to reveal another mechanical creature of alien origin - legs delicately holding itself in place as it levitated. Another one of their species had emerged from the Well, causing it to pause and even reveal itself to see if it could gain more insight into their kind. A shameful lack of biological proxies left it confronting the machine directly.

"There are others of your species here, but you are larger than them."

[Action] EVERY SINGLE ONE.

[Optimus sees this creature and...well his faceplate goes over his mouth, just to be safe. He's never seen a creature like this, but he can guess that it can hold it's own in a fight. More than that, but he knows when to keep his guard up. Despite all this, however, he's courteous.]

My kind? Do you mean Cybertronian?

[Action] WELL THAT'S TWO DOWN..

It had no intention of fighting - it's own combat abilities had been temporarily sheared from it's own form, as told by the scar-like metallic plates covering damaged carapace.

"Yes, they have arrived here before you. Your kind shows odd patterns not found in other synthetic life forms. Organic thoughts and emotions pervade rather than pure logic. It is easy to identify."

It appears to be interested more in Optimus as a larger part of a collective than in the Autobot himself.
