Blaze,
I would like to talk with you whenever possible and in person. Soon. We don't have to do any training so it is all right if you still haven't recovered. Just so long as you are feeling well enough to chat.
Thank you.
V2

I am available (though not for training) and now have access to your world.
Tell me when and where.

Meet me at the following location: [ address to residence ]
Come anytime tomorrow. I will make sure I am there.
V2
---
The address was obviously an apartment address. The building a bit on the lower with thin walls and due to the community bathroom and kitchen on every floor, was a little noisy. V2 made sure to just stay home all day so that Blaze could come at his convenience.

This is strange ...
: Yes. :
We'll find out soon enough.

"Hi. Come in." He moved away to let Blaze come in, "It's small but I at least I have a place to sit?" V2 motioned to the futon.
Reply
"Thank you, V2, and that will be fine."
As he settled himself on the edge of the futon, Blaze coked a brow questioningly at V2.
"Am I still brain-mangled, or is something unusual here?"
Reply
"This is where I will be staying for the time being." His eyes landed on his own PET which he waved a hand at.
V2's PET was set up on his desk next to some newly purchased computer equipment. It was obvious it had just been put together as some of the packaging was still sticking to it, but it was all up and running.
"I no longer have a NetOperator. And I will be living and working on my own."
Reply
"... What?"
He closed what distance there was, studying V2 as if he had him pinned once again and eyes sliding half-closed.
"You wanted to train to help your brat of an operator, as I recall. And you don't strike me as the kind to desert."
"He abandoned you, didn't he?"
Reply
"He let me go." His voice became softer but not weaker, "I don't know what I did wrong."
Reply
Blaze's eyes took on more of a bloody sheen; but aside from that, he showed no evidence of the lunatic that V2 first encountered.
"What makes you think it was you that did anything wrong?"
Reply
A fist formed at V2's side, "I wouldn't be surprised if he feels I abandoned him."
That fist relaxed again, "I don't understand why he did it. I told him before that I didn't want a new NetOperator. He's told me that a NetOp and Navi need to have a friendship to succeed and to work together and not on their own. I was too stubborn on all those things. And probably something else."

Blaze snorted, tossing his head.
"And he can't make you into a human family member no matter how much he tried to twist and maul you into what he wants you to be --"
"Even I concede that when a person is involved and not an object."
For a long moment Blaze stood silently, eyes half-lidded and head tilted slightly, as if he were listening to something V2 couldn't detect ...
One hand suddenly tightened on V2's shoulder, as Blaze drew them face to face.
"Listen to me, V2."
"The boy is selfish. He's a brat who wanted you to be something you aren't -- human, and something to make his pathetic illusion of a family."
"You came to me to train you, to make you a better navi for your operator."
The hand tightened.
"You returned to the one who made you bleed for him, for that brat."
"What else is there you can offer him in sacrifice, then?"
"Think about it."
Reply
"I know he is. But I thought I could help him learn and get past that. He needs someone patient and I thought I could be that someone. Sure I get frustrated with him but I could usually control it."
"I know I couldn't be part of his family. I had no problem with him calling me his brother but," V2 shook his head but never broke eye contact, "I am nothing to the other people in the household. Which is fine. I stayed there for him. As his Navi but now we don't have that."
A frustrated sigh as a fist formed once again at V2's side, he could only stay silent.

Blaze released V2, and retook his seat on the futon with a disdainful snort.
"If he can't see the difference, that's also the brat's own problem."
Tilting his head to maintain his lock on V2's gaze, Blaze smiled -- rather twisted -- and locked his hands around one knee.
"When I'm giving morality lessons, you know something's gone wrong in the universe. But when it comes down to it, if he's not willing to accept what you offer, that's his loss."
"His inability to accept that he can't always have what he wants -- in this case, whatever insane familial hold he wants over you -- is his failing. Not yours."
"Better to be an independent operative than to follow that selfish little fungus. The only way to make that kind learn is to leave them to their mistakes."
"That being said, is this why you asked me here?"
"Or something else?"

He began to walk over, "But I thought it was the kind of thing that needed to be discussed in person rather than email."
V2 took a seat next to Blaze and leaned back, "As I see it, Enzan doesn't want my help or think he needs it. He says he doesn't want to hurt me anymore and I guess cutting off our relationship just about completely is the absolute way of making sure it won't happen."
"But I still keep going back and forth between rage and depression."
Reply
"Of course you're still feeling rage and depression. You've been discarded, callously, by the most important person in your life."
"That's only an expected reaction for human or navi."
Blaze studied V2 for a moment, and then leaned back gingerly himself.
"Naturally the brat would claim he 'doesn't want to hurt you anymore' -- and all the while inflicting as much pain as he can."
"Useless, senseless idiot; he'd never be entrusted with a pet or an insentient navi -- let alone one like you -- in my own world."
"For that matter, if the little monster were in my world I'd be arresting him. Abandonment of a sentient navi is a criminal offense."
Reply
"Why is that?" There was that twitch again. It was enough to keep himself from making a sarcastic remark.
