Few quick thoughts...

1) Of course I'm going to be petty and lame. Its the job of every fan. I'm that way for every team: Dodgers, Angels, Lakers, Real Sociedad (my soccer team in Spain), Ducks, Kings, UCLA Bruins, etc.

2) If I was being petty imagine all the calls I've gotten from people who are either from Michigan or just from the East (I will call these people Laker Haters) who just wanted to tell me how fucking glad they were that LA lost. Not that the Pistons won, but that LA lost. People say LA is sick? We don't rejoice when others lose. We just turn over cars when we win. Ok, ok I smile when the Yankees lose, but that's a Steinbrenner thing not a Yankees team thing. I actually like Joe Torre and despite the fact that he's a little bitch I can never pull myself away from watching Gary Sheffield. Anyways...

3) LA as a whole is superficial, but you can't pidgeonhole over 5 million people. Most of the things that you hate about LA, a good deal of of Los Angelinos hate too. To name a few: a) NO FUCKING METRO b) General supeficiality c) Women with accessory dogs d) Girls with Louis Vutton or Prada bags (PEOPLE ARE STARVING YOU SICK FUCKS). Not everyone is plastic. Los Angeles still has some of the best museums, music scenes (from classical to rock), great universities (in the LA area alone there are three Top 30 schools: CalTech, UCLA, USC), and not just Hollywood is here--which does make a decent flick every now and then, but also a budding underground market as well.

4) I don't think LA had poor sportsmanship. We do expect to win, but that's because there IS a rich tradition here. That's all I was speaking to. People in New York are just as bad if not worse. Oh and you can't tell me Red Wings fans don't expect to win. Rewind to when the Ducks beat them and whatever acidic statements come out of LA, I want you to times that by about five and that's what DETROIT FANS were doing. Wasn't possible for a lower-budget, team from the Golden State to beat the invincible Red Wings was it? Arrogance? There is plenty of it in motor city too.

5) Lastly, I am sick of this myth that LA buys their teams. Sure LA has a great budget for basketball and it has Kobe Bryant and Shaq, but if you think LA has the highest budget for payroll you are just wrong. They aren't even in the Top 5 for payroll. The New York Knicks, Portland Trailblazers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Dallas Mavericks, and the Sacramento Kings all have higher payrolls than LA.
