I've got a few minutes before I have to start getting dressed for work and I was thinking of what April and Spencer's registered names should be.
For April I was thinking:
JC's Snorkles Von UVHS
Snorkles: because that is what we call her all the time and it looks funny
UVHS: is the Upper Valley Humane Society where we adopted her. Since she will be ILP'd I want everyone to know she is from the Humane Society and not from unscrupulous breeding like Mackenzie. Not that all of the name (Upper Valley etc.) would even fit.

For Spencer we've got:
JC's Spencer On An Adventure
A few people might get it.
(The actor Spencer Tracy's middle name was "Bonaventure") There are several ways we could play around with that one.
JC's Captains Courageous
Spencer Tracy won an Academy Award for Best Actor for this film.
JC's Keeper of the Flame
Spencer Tracy and Katherine Hepburn starred in this one. Incidentally my favorite line from the AKC Scottish Terrier breed standard (maybe my favorite pairing of words EVER):
"The Scottish Terrier should be alert and spirited but also stable and steady-going. He is a determined and thoughtful dog whose "heads up, tails up" attitude in the ring should convey both fire and control."
I'm really liking that last one. I think that's perfect for him. And a few Scottie people might understand it.
Incidentally the odds are that April, blind in one eye and with a bad knee, and Spencer, sometimes dog-reactive and easily prone to shutting down/quitting during training, will never make it into the ring. Maybe with this enthusiasm for their registered names I'll actually take the time to ILP them and get with it as far as their training. Dad says he thinks Spence could be ready for Rally at the Corpus Christi Show in August. HA!
