Greetings from an internet cafe. I have little to no idea how to work the keyboard here, except for the fact that, yes, it works sort of like an American one. Keyword here being sort of.
Heaven above, the last two days have been nothing but temple after temple, with walking, walking, more walking, and a flashback to the Germany trip with one giant hill that seemed to never end and...gah!
So Twitchy bit the big one, to the point where my extreamly kind host mother bought me a replacement for Twitchy, whom I have named Ryuu -- even though right now he lookst more like a tama (egg) than a dragon and he started out as a dog... I`m weird, we know this, please live with it.
Continuing on from there -- my Host Mother paid for me to get a Piolit`s Liscence. Not a plane, but a Gundam... Well, right now, it`s just a medocure mech, but it`ll do until I level up enough to get a Gundam. The game itself -- oh heaven, it`s fun! -- is baised off of the original Gundam which is the one that has the most popularity here in Japan. You litterally sit /in/ the cockpit and piloit it like you would in the anime. It`s so cool! Even when you get yuor aft handed to you, it`s fun. And there is a pod with my proverbial name on it right down stairs which I will be going to as soon as this is done. Good thing the hotel`s not to far away! -evil laugh-
We took a bullet train from Tokyo to Kyoto on Monday, which was interesting but nothing too noteworthy. It was basically a landbound plane. Sorry, no picutres as of yet, I`m attempting to save up film for later.
Kyoto was shrine after shrine after shrine, and then a ryokon hotel, and oh my is that spelling buttchered. But it was a room with tatami matts (if confused, anyone, leave a post and I`ll explain it to you and/or link you to an explination later). We were required to take off our shoes at the entrance and our slippers at the room door before entering the room itself, so that was interesting. And two pairs of socks have met their makers at the writing of this. The ankles in them are no more, which should tell you just how much walking has been going on.
I`m going to try a public bath tomorrow night, see how it goes. I`ll proably have to write about that one in the states.
Today was more temples, nothing too exciting. I`m in Hiroshima right now. We:re getting a fun start tomorrow at 9:30 AM here in Japan, which means everyone will probably be in bed by then. -sweatdrop-
Well, I`m going to cut this off before it becomes a novel. See you all on Saturday (or Sunday, really, as I plan to go to bed as soon as I get home). Ja ne!
