Download, Download... Panic!

Aug 27, 2007 14:10

obsoletereality found links to all sorts of Transformer-y goodness.  Some of those links don't work, mind you, but that's only because TV-Nihon's torrent site went down the toilet and they still haven't gotten everything back up to snuff yet.  (Speaking of which -- I'm about 1/3 of the way done downloading Masterforce, Duo.  Should be all the way done by Thursday -knockonwood-)

Anyway -- while wandering around getting Transformer-y goodness, I ran across a whole bunch of other stuff that I went “Oh, me want!”  ... And proceeded to download as if my bandwidth were going out of style.  I believe Forte’s sluggish periods are due to excessive downloading and having ABC - Yet Another BitTorrent Client open for far too long.

Now we hit the part why this post has Panic in the title.

School.  I move in Sunday, September 2.  I get all my ducks in a row (translation: get Returning Student Registration and related paperwork out of the way) on Monday, Sept 3.  I start banging my head against a wall in an effort to get my Major and Minor declared and on track for graduation in ’09 no later than the minute I hit my dorm room after said paperwork is handled on Monday.  And presuming my class schedule stays as is, I continue to bang my head against the wall known as academia on Tuesday, Sept 4, if necessary, given I don’t have classes Tues and Thurs.  ...Maybe I should make that don’t have classes yet?

Kami-sama, setting up my schedule is not supposed to be headache-inducing hard!  Austin College, due to pressure from several students, has voted to drop Heritage of Western Culture -- basically, HWC is the class everyone but a select few (Myself included!!) hates to take but has to anyway.  It was the only real mandatory set of classes at AC.  Everything else was just “Pick from column A, column B, and column C, to get your full plate of Liberal Arts credentials.  And don’t forget your necessary classes for your Major and Minor!”  But with the drop in HWC, now it’s something totally different and a minor pain to figure out.  It’s the usual Pick-What-You-Need-To-Graduate spread out across what feels like every discipline there is plus the Major and Minor required classes.

What it boils down to is the nice, neat package of classes needed for graduation has now been torn open and tossed to the metaphorical Four Winds.  If I want to graduate by Fall ’09, then summer classes appear to be in my immediate future.

Enough ranting from me.  ...I need to go study my katakana, hiragana, and Kanji, anyway.  I haven’t studied it all summer, and I begin Intermediate Japanese on Wed, Sept 5.
