2) The fact that you even ask the question indicates that if you were allowed to keep everything you earned, rather than having nearly half of it stolen from you, you would be the first to help those around you who were in need. The fact that people keep voting for politicians who promise to help the needy (even if they don't) shows that the majority of voters, were they allowed to keep what they earned, also feel the same compassion you do. Most people are generous if the have the means to act on their compassion.
I trust that most people are actually good. You only need to force "kindness" if you believe most people are bad.
I've really just scratch the surface on this. Responses to your objections that are formulated far better than mine have already been written.
