My last one was before I went to bed Thursday night. I know from experience once I get past this weekend the worst--at least physically--will be over. I've been doing lots of napping. It helps. That and frantically doing laundry and housekeeping cause I'm beginning to notice how much everything I own stinks.
Not that it matters but I will never be able to smell, taste yes smell no. not after having my nose broken twice. The smell of smoke might drive you crazy and make you want one! Lots of walks in the cold winter air!!
I'm sorry, I have a mega-soft spot for KISS. As a child, I was obsessed with them.....the whole stage / rock - drama thing had me entranced. They were like comic book characters come to life. Not neccessarily the world's greatest musicians....man, that's a stretch.
I figured as much, besides, that was really the nicotine demons talking anyway. I actually did like the song "Love Gun." And I could appreciate that in many ways they were ground breakers. I guess I had the same type of experience with Alice Cooper back in the day. In 1971 seeing a man strip off a space suit to reveal a corset and fishnet stockings while belting out serious rock and roll was so out of fucking nowhere, especially with a 250 micro-gram hit of acid was just kicking in. Talk about yer paradigm shift...
When I was around twenty-eight or so I quite for nearly 10 years. I've been through it before. The physical stuff will be over in a few more days. Then comes the real war: only remembering how good the first one in the morning tastes--not how crappy the twentieth or thirtieth one taste at 10 PM; the aroma of a freshly opened pack as opposed to an ashtray that's been full for three days; dreaming about smoking... Stuff like that. It is much easier to bring the body into submission than it is the mind.
I have one weapon I did not have the last time, or at least I didn't know I had it: my Will.

Remember, it will pass.

You're getting cranky, not in your old age, but because you want a cigarette. This, too, shall pass.
