aargh
As much as I prefer to read hard copy, I find myself wishing I had a PDA of some sort for reading. Nobody looks twice if you're looking at something on a PDA as you walk or stand in the elevator, but everyone seems to notice if you read an actual book. It's really starting to bother me, and it's starting to get more and more difficult not to snap that the book is more interesting than the person who is talking to me even though I've probably read the book at least 5 times.
Also, I so want to eat here.
FFXI: Digging was really meh last night. Can't remember the last time I got over 2 stacks of pebbles. Did the guild turn in as well, and I'm now about 20K GP away from Shaded Spectacles. Need to start mining again next week and get some gold ores. Could get more if I went digging in Altepa, but that place is dug up so often it's not worth the 500 gil of calling my bird.
Nyzul went pretty well last night, with 2/3 successful runs to build up almontffxi's points. We had a lot of kill all floors last night, at least 2 on every run.
We should have had a successful third run, as well. There was definite SE bullshit involved in that loss. We did a boots run on Oddy's disc and got to 20 with not much time left. We took the turtle down in 1:35, thanks in part to 2 Revitalizers on the way up. No drop. The 10 second warning came up as I got to the rune pole, and I had clicked Yes to exit us. So had Kono. And yet we both still got the "Your mission has failed message." Bastards.
