another weird brain trick

May 13, 2009 20:33

A little while back, I noticed that when I'm looking at a white part of an LCD projection -- either at the screen or (sidelong) at the light coming out of the projector -- something odd happens: If I move my head, I get tracers that very clearly decompose the image into red, green, and blue copies.

a) Does this happen to other people?

b) What the hell?

(by "tracers," I'm not talking about the afterimages you get when you stare at something for a while and then look away; I mean the blurred image you get when something moves quickly, close to your face. You (or I, at least) can see what I'm talking about by putting your hand about four inches from your face and waving it back and forth faster than your eyes can track.)

questions, is my brain melting?, brain, weird
