Prayer Request: Jasmine

Jan 08, 2008 18:44

I hope everyone's first week of the new year is going well =) It really doesn't feel like a week since I've last written - in some ways it feels much longer & in others it feels like that entry was just last night.

Anyway, I still have a lot going on & just a week of Winter Break left :'( so this update will be [hopefully] pretty short & sweet. It's essentially a prayer request for a co-worker & friend. Her name is Jasmine.

Jasmine has been going through so much lately that I barely know where or how to begin. Let me start by saying that Jasmine's a very sweet, fun-loving woman & mother of 2 adorable young children. Nothing makes her happier than being a mom & you can see it in her eyes whenever she talks about them - which is quite often lol She has a big heart & good intentions but I think she's just made some bad choices in the past that have landed her where she is now. My heart just goes straight out to her & her kids.

All the gruesome details of her situation aren't really necessary, nor do I know all of them & would hate to write as if I know exactly all that I'm speaking about when in fact I don't, but right now she's in the process of trying to find an affordable apartment to move out & away from her 'baby daddy'. I've actually met the man once, quite briefly, but it was long enough to get the sense that this guy really isn't a winner... The first words I ever heard him speak were "Why you dressed so nice? What n***** you f***in' up in here?" [to Jasmine, not me although either way, the accusation's just downright appalling. Not to mention inappropriate -.-].

Anyway, please pray for her... as the days of the new year have been passing, I've heard her situation gradually worsening & seen her hope & happiness diminishing =(

I really hope things get better for her soon & that God grants her strength to get through this dark time for the sake of herself & her two kids. Hopefully he will guide her in such a way that she will grow that much closer to him from this. Thanks everyone. Until next time...

In His Love,
Jess
