How have I not always been watching this show?! I cannot even. What is this, I can't. It's beautiful. It's amazing. It's Martin Freeman. The music, the plots, the direction, the framing--hell, even the lighting

I agree wholeheartedly with you. It's an excellent show and Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock is perfect.
I hear that there is supposed to be an American version of this show coming out, but it's gonna be set in New York with Lucy Liu as Watson? I'm all for tweaking the Sherlock Holmes stories, but that's taking it a little too far in my opinion.
?? Why would they do that? (Don't answer--I know it's money.) Aren't they still going for another season of the British one?
I'm sorry, but I just cannot see Lucy Liu as Watson. And I love the Sherlock-Watson bromance too much for some reason, idek. And I am so resistant to change. This is a bad thing.
He is quite the perfect Sherlock. All the right mannerisms. Perfect line delivery. Just GAH.
I'm just so partial to Moffat from seeing his name at the header of the new Doctor Who series for so long. Good connections in my memory. Seeing his name at the beginning of Sherlock did wonders to warm me up to it.
I'm only two episodes in... but I guess that's more than half the first season. Still (obviously) freaking out over its awesomeness.
Yeah, I don't think i knew it was him going in either, and then went 'Wait, is that--heeeey, it is!" on the second or third ep. Heh. No points for me for research or observiness.
It actually kept reminding me of Life on mars, though they have very little in common--I think for the seamless incorporation of period-specific elements (in this case modern technology). I love the fact that updating the story to the 21st century is dealt with so directly, rather than trying to conceal it and pretend like it's actually set sometime in the 80s only with cellphones.
Heh, like how the entire first episode was all CELLPHONES ARE A THING. I like how they just rammed modern tech into the investigations. Made it realistic
(Hee, I would never have made that Life on Mars connection, but since you've pointed it out, you're so right.)
Ah! This series is still on my to-watch list. I have the first season on DVD, but didn't manage to catch a glimpse so far. And everyone on my flist is totally in awe of the show.
Oh, you deserve to set aside some time to watch it. I had this on the bottom of my to-watch list, but 'accidentally' watched an episode yesterday. Now I can't stop. It's beautiful.

It's not so much the gay jokes as the way the two actors act around them that I find hilarious. They are just so wonderful together :D
