(no subject)
so much to update!
i guess i'll start with my beach trip with kim on wednesday (of last week). kim and i left pretty early in the morning, around 8:30. we drove down to the island and met alex at her house in blue point, and cathie met us there too. after a while of deciding what we were going to do, we decided to drive to a beach near alex's house since she had to be back relatively soon after we left. we sat on the beach for a while, and i even went in the water and stayed in for a while, which is totally shocking for me! afterwards we were approached by "jessica" who wanted to know if we knew jesus. on the beach! i don't know jesus on the beach, lady. all i know is i want a tan. k thanks. so anyway, we left the beach around 3pm, and kim and i started driving back home. we make it all the way down the LIE and across the throgs neck bridge. we're waiting to pay our toll one of the lanes, and kim's car completely stops. it was still running, but it was like the transmission didn't want to be in drive anymore. really weird. anyway, we couldn't get it going. it was like a ridiculous disaster - stuck on the bridge, no way to go. we called AAA, which luckily kim had. in the mean time, we were pushed to this "disabled car area" which was on an exit right off the highway, and we waited. a tow truck finally showed up which we found out was related to AAA, and he towed us to a gas station in the bronx which had AAA service. by this time it was 4:30-5ish. we waited until 6:40 for AAA to get the other tow truck there so they could take us the rest of the way home (and luckily, kim has this special AAA plus account where she gets 100 miles of free towing, so we got towed all the way home and there was no charge). needless to say, that was an exhausting day, and i came home with really red face/body hahaha.
anyway, friday i drove down to the island again to sub for danielle in the pit of children of eden at CAP. i left pretty early so that i could beat any traffic i was worried about hitting (and it is a good thing i left early because there was a lot of traffic on the hutchinson parkway... i was pissed!) but i still got there in plenty of time. the show was a lot of fun, the people in the pit are just really fun people and i had a really great time. plus, the music was fun! so that was a great experience all around. that night i drove to cathie's, got there around midnight, and went to sleep pretty soon after... although not before realizing i hadn't eaten anything all day and having some waffles! haha :)
saturday cathie and i got up and we were kinda lazy for a little while, then we decided to try to see if any of her friends were around to hang out and maybe play a game or something. ended up that joe and his bf nick were around, so we planned on meeting them at the library to play gluck! noorzahan also met us there, so it was a really coo' game. we came back, watched some golden girls episodes on dvd, and had dinner. after that i drove to oakdale to see chris play in "swing!" at CM (which i had subbed in the pit for a couple weeks ago! haha) and it was really fun to see the show from the other end. i had met alex and her father there too, and it was great seeing her again. after that, alex, chris and i went to eat at applebees, which was really great and we had a great time talking (not to mention singing and just being generally crazy in the car on the way there haha). then we went to CAP (haha i had just played children of eden there!) to see rocky horror picture show. on line for the show, i saw MICHELLE who i hadn't seen for EXACTLY ONE YEAR TO THE DAY!! i was so excited to see her, it was ridiculous. anyway, i had seen part of rocky horror the movie in potsdam, but we didn't even stay the whole time because the audience was retarded and the sound system sucked in the theater. but the CAP performance was a live production, not the movie w/ people acting it out in front, so it was completely different, and i loved it! chris' friend ashley was in it, (i had met her the weekend before) and she was so great! plus that the show was just really hysterically funny, and the audience was really into it and knew all the funny callouts (which i know NONE of since i had basically never seen it before, haha!). it was a really nice time, and i'm really glad i went. plus that i think chris is really great (read: i really kind of like him) and it was so nice to see him again! i got back to cathie's house at like 3am and everyone was sleeping, but they had left the door open for me, haha :)
on sunday i just kinda hung out at cathie's house for a little while until she had to go to a graduation party, and i left for home. the traffic was kinda bad at some points and the rain was torrential on the taconic, but i was almost home at that point anyway. lagrange seems boring now (not that it didn't before) after being on the island... i want to go back...
