ALSO WONDERFUL. (It's ACD's brother in law, who wrote it as a loving tweak of Holmes and Watson. Actually, it's a kind of AU fanfic of Holmes and Watson as criminals. It's pretty wonderful and gayer than a rainbow monkey falling out of a tree made of Kylie Minogue records. ;)
In other news, thank you so much. That's awesome that you read it without knowing the verse. :D

Also, I always clap when I see a story from you. It was a pleasure, as always!

ACD was probably all "HAHAH, AWESOME DUDE, HOLMES AS A MASTER THIEF!" and EW was "Are u sure? Because you rock and I love your work, yanno." "NO DUDE, IT'S GREAT, DOOOO IT, I WANTS IT."
Except 100 years ago. *grin* Which makes it even better.

if I can find them. I saved them at the time because I loved the original stories,
but I could never find an actual fandom for them.

Post them!!!!! WE NEEDS THEM!

There is so little fic and to be honest most of what I've read doesn't really manage to catch the flavor of the stories but this. It's among the best I've had the pleasure of reading for your Bunny voice alone. You... you actually rival Hornung - no I am not just saying that; your language was so authentic I confess to being stunned by it several times throughout. It was glorious. And adorable, with Bunny's moment of cluelessness as to whom raffles really loved. Guh. Your fic always makes my heart a squishy puddle :)
*mems*
P.S. ~ PLEASE WRITE MOAR RAFFLES.

For some reason, I was never able to get the hang of Hornung's style, though I had more than a few plot bunnies when I first started reading the stories. I see what you mean about his writing being more dated... I'ea always thought Doyle had the more archaic style in some ways, but Hornung uses a fair bit of period slang sometimes and makes me go O__O My muse is not sure about dabbling in fic for it... so I'm very glad yours is :)

YES, exactly right. Maybe because his characters are often on the edge of unsavory, so they use a lot of that coded language for naughty thieving things, which in Victorian England were really colorful. I also think that Holmes and Watson are of a somewhat higher social class than Raffles and Bunny - or more mindful of their speech and that makes it more accessible.
As for your drabbling, COME ON! I KNOW I WILL LOOOVE IT! :D :D

I didn't cross-link all the stories to crimeandcricket but my tagging system on my LJ is very clear and I have them all in memories as well. All stories are posted to my LJ (except a couple of long ones which are only my website, but the post will be here.)
I hope to see more of your stories too.
