Daddy wasn't able to make it home for Christmas. Of course, India Marie and Isabella Elizabeth couldn't be bothered to come home to visit either. That would require the both of them to consider how much Nikolas James misses them. He hasn't said too much about them today, but when he opened the gifts they sent for him, I saw it reflected in his eyes.
I...I don't know what to say to him. I've tried to hold this family together, but it never seems to be enough. I couldn't be like Isabella Elizabeth and escape the responsibility by running off to live with our grandmother. I couldn't run away as soon as I turned of age the way India Marie did either. Irene Lily and the boys needed me here. Daddy needed me. I just wish that for once everyone would be grateful for the sacrifices I make for this family.
Eric Thomas graduated with from college and I know he'll be moving out soon. It's not like I have the opportunity to finish school or have a life outside of the family, but I try not to let it get to me. I'm needed here and I gladly do my part to hold us together.
