In which I poke some bacteria (and Twilight rip offs suck by default)

Today, I smelled some bacteria. Yep. It was the first day of my "field study" in the micro biology dep. at the hospital, and this was definitely one of the strangest things they showed us xD Smell is apparently an important tool when it comes to identifying bacteria colonies... Kind of makes me wonder what the hell kind of job I'm going to get oO

Also, somewhat school related: the girls in our class have been asked if we want to participate in the clinical trials for a new HPV vaccine (the cancer thingy, you know:p) and I'm thinking about accepting. If nothing else, at least I'll get free medical check ups for the next three years... but then again it's more needles, and possible side effects. Hm I hate that I can't decide :s

And for the sake of my sanity I think I need to throw in a rant as well - re: The Vampire Diaries. I watched the pilot last night, and for some strange reason I was under the impression that it was a show that I might like. Right.
After about 30 sec I was rolling my eyes at the oh-so-obvious emo!pires. And after maybe 2.5 min, I realised that if the thing on Hunk McEmo!pire Tortured Brat the main character's finger turned out to be the Gem of Amara, I might burst into frustrated tears. Of course it was *headdesk* In case you never watched quite as much Buffy as I did, the Gem of Amara was the ring Spike came to Sunnydale to steal because it made it possible for vampires to survive direct sunlight. The ring was handed over to Angel for safe keeping. Hmm I wonder if Hunk McEmo!pire had to go ask Angel for permission to borrow it to go find his one truu vuw?.
I don't think I could even have imagined anything that so openly tries to ride the Twilight-wave if I tried.
World, why do you have to fail so hard?
