I'm in ur city, riding ur busez

Today I bring you words from a somewhat confused and completely broke girl in a strange new city. I moved away from home (for real) for the first time a week ago. And I think I like it. A whole lot.
I have a dorm room of sorts, with my own bathroom (so much LOVE) but a shared kitchen/living room and it's pretty nice. And pretty affordable. But I ( Read more... )

OMG, food is ridiculously expensive. I found that out when house sitting...it was insane!

Blood samples...I do not think I would personally do well if a classmate was approaching me with a needle. Then again, as I'm doing law, I think I'd have license to be scared if one did. :p

I know! How are we supposed to eat at all? oO
Hahah I am actually way more scared of doing the approaching - I fear that I will screw up horribly and hit an artery and/or a nerve *crings* Poor, poor thing that gets me for a partner xD
And yes, you everyone have the right to be scared of unqualified people with needles!

I decided being a vegetarian would be much, much cheaper. I don't know what it's like over there, but meat here is very expensive comparatively.
I am sure you will be FINE, they wouldn't make you practice on other people if they didn't think you'd all manage it perfectly well.
Law students with needles...nightmare scenario...*trembles*

And oh, OH, may I ask some advice? I'm sort of plotting an overseas trip, and as you are OS yourself and thus knowledgeable about Scandinavian seasons, is it worth popping up to Norway or Finland in January? Because atm (if all goes to plan, which it probably won't, but whatevs), I'm likely to be in Europe (starting in London) from late November/early December for about three month. I know it's going to be the middle of winter, so I was wondering whether it's still worth the cash and the trip...snow is fine, but if I'm not going to be able to see anything, then there isn't really any point.

/annoying pestering

Haha I'm kind of unvoluntarily turning into vegetarian, because I too have noticed that meat is so much more expensive xD But I don't think I'll ever manage to go 100% vegetarian - fried chicken and steak is just too damn tasty:p ( ... )

Steak. Mmmmmmm. Actually, some days I crave steak and meat like whoa, others I can't stand the thought...it's a bit of a mood thing ( ... )

Oh why are we talking about steak when I clearly can't have any? D:
I will try to answer your questions, but I really don't know much about the tourist scene here in Norway, and even less about the rest of Scandinavia <.< Heh I don't think my parents would love the idea of me wandering around say the US on my own either xD Staying with realtives is a good way to cut some expenses though, so good luck with those plans:p

As for what to do here, I'm a little clueless... I suppose you will have to look at some mountain/fjord landscape, because that's what all the visitors do:p And I have to admit that they are nice. Other than that some viking stuff maybe? At least that's something I'm intersted in xD Uhhm you should probably stay a little while in Oslo too, just to see what s small ugly kind of a place it is ( ... )
