Oh lord his temper. He is infamous for it. He's better about controlling it than he used to be, but if someone were to set him off it would be smart for them to run.

He can lead if he so wanted, though in his present time he kinda prefers to just hang back.

The main person he views as direct family is the North, the United States. There's Canada and the other North American Nations as well...but not nearly as close as he is to the Union.

He tried to leave, and ended up getting dragged back kicking and screaming, so no.

The main one would be April/May of 1865. But pretty much the whole War for Southern Independence had that effect.
