I don't think I've ever met a person alive who didn't like Will Smith, even if he he had no opinion on him other than that.
Seriously.
I think the main reason is his bone structure, and the shape of his eyes. He always looks like he's smiling, that Will.
So it may not shock you to know that I did not hate "I Am Legend". In fact, I rather enjoyed it. I guess that's one of the huge benefits of waiting for DVD... you have heard people trash a film so much that theres NO WAY it could be as bad as it's rumored to be. In this case, I'd even go so far to say the film was actually good. But then, I'm a fan of the controvercial "super fast zombie".*
You know what I like about my taste? (Aside from the fact that it's mine). I can happily, and easily get lost in a beautiful adaptation of a Shakespearean play, a Broadway Musical, and then, just as easily get enchanted by a good old fashioned horror flick, and find a message in either. No need for pretense with me! Oh, oh! And did you KNOW Emma Thompson cameos in "I Am Legend"? That alone should speak volumes.
I admit that I never read the book that the movie is based on, and I'm willing to do so quite happily if one of you have an old copy laying around.

In other news: I am craving saltine crackers dipped in bleu cheese dressing. There's no way I'm going to remain a size 8 much longer anyway, so why not, eh?

My husband won a stuffed "baby Elmo" toy out of one of those "games" with the giant claw. You know what I'm talking about. I actually (audibly) squealed with delight and jumped for joy in "Safeway" when he won it. He then won a stuffed "cookie monster" 5 turns later. 10$ spent on what we could have bought for $9.50, but that's not the point, is it?
For a girl who has traffic court coming up, I'm way too giddy. But I've been telling ya'll that 2008 would be a great year, yeah?
*Because I insist on watching all films with the subtitles option and/or "subtitles for the hearing impaired" if it is available-- I learned that the "zombie like creatures" in "I Am Legend" are actually called "hemocytes" in the film. But let's not split hairs.**.
** I think one of the reasons I married my husband is because he never batted an eye about my insistance that I watch every film with subtitles, and easily adapted to my quirk(s).
